Join the TRIBOS Master programme and become a student in one of the key multidisciplinary engineering areas!

Tribology is the science of interacting surfaces in relative motion and most particularly their friction, wear and lubrication behaviour. Understanding the complex interfacial phenomena on a micro and nano scale and solving the exciting technical challenges associated with them is what truly makes Tribology the engineering science of today. It is present in every aspect of modern technology: from industrial bearing production lines to ski coatings, food processing and a more green, sustainable future.

The field of Tribology is highly specialised and incorporates Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanics, Surface Chemistry and Physics, as well as other research areas such as surface characterization, lubricants, thin films and coatings and most importantly, the selection and design of lubrication systems and engineering contacts.

The TRIBOS+ joint Master programme (2 years) provides students with high-level, state-of-the-art tribological knowledge, required for tackling the next wave of advanced engineering problems. University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) offers the programme in collaboration with 3 leading European universities: University of Leeds (UK), University of Coimbra (Portugal) and Technical University of Lulea (Sweden), awarding a true joint degree. 18 scholarships for both European and non-European students are available from the European Commission for the 2020-2022 edition of the programme.

TRIBOS+ Master programme is part of the European Erasmus+ mobility scheme, thus offering exciting networking and travelling opportunities alongside a top-level study experience. For more information about the programme and the application procedure go to: www.master-tribos.eu.
